4 Wisemen

... is a song created by 4 young Glaswegian High-Schoolers, to rise awareness of youth crime, unequality and the difficulties of escaping this cycle. The project fund was supposed by The Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Knowledge Exchange Funding and helped by the Edinburgh Napier University - Public Engagement.
The goal was to produce create a AR Music Video Experience that rises awareness of this problem. Some technical as well as problems concerning symbolism arose throughout the production and some goals needed to be adjusted:

AR Promotion Experience, instead of the full Videoto enable a better compatibility and accessibility across all devices.

No inclusion of Violence (knifes, guns, skulls, etc) as research has shown that picturing these would further push fear in the community.​​​​

Workflow
​
I was added to the team after during the end of Preproduction and was helping to finalise the ideas. I was taking over from Annalisa at early production. At this stage the 'ReadyPlayerMe' Characters have already been created and the Performance Capture Footage was taken.
For Production a lot of concepts & ideas needed to be tested before we could commit to the whole idea. For example videos are not supported in Aero and the full video was not an option due to immense file size bloating when working with png sequences.
Creating the AR in Unreal Engine was explored but optimising it to all the different operating systems was beyond project limitations.​

MoCap Footage clean up (as far as possible to the budged & time limitations) as well as retargeting in Maya/Blender

Scene assembly and optimisations in Blender

Rendering and integrating 3D footage in the 2D Video.
